Skill tree

Main Tree

Giant's Blow

New
  • STR keystone: bare hands gain +1 damage per 10 Strength; attack speed ×0.8.

Poised Guard

New
  • A compact STR–DEX parrying branch now grants 5% increased parry bonus on each of two small nodes and 12.5% on its notable.

Thirst for Battle

New
  • A compact STR–DEX life-leech branch now grants 0.2% life leech on each of two small nodes and 0.5% on its notable.

In the Thick of Battle

World and exploration

World and combat

Currency drops

Changed
  • Currency from regular creatures drops eight times less often than before: the same 25% base as equipment, then halved. Boss tables are unchanged.

Light and magic armour

Changed
  • Armour that gives evasion or rune shield now also keeps 30% of its original armour.

Monolith visages

Changed
  • A monolith gives one Visage of the First Warden for each of the last three waves fully cleared (waves 8, 9 and 10), up to 3 per monolith.
  • Previously there was one visage, only for killing the last wave's champion.
  • Corrupted monoliths give corrupted visages the same way.

Thorns hit effect

New
  • Thorns damage now has a visual and sound effect at the target.
  • The effect is larger on a parry riposte.

Altars of Power on the map

New
  • The first kill of a biome's boss marks that biome's Altar of Power on your map.
  • Once per player in each biome, with a notification. Players who already killed the boss get the mark when they enter the world.

Aftershock and parry effects

Changed
  • Aftershock now looks like a troll's ground slam.
  • Stunning Answer: a parry flash on each staggered enemy instead of one shared wave.
  • Crush no longer shows Eikthyr's lightning; it uses the Elder's stomp.

Evasion and enemy accuracy

Changed
  • Enemies now have accuracy that grows with the creature's level and stars. Your chance to evade depends on your evasion rating against that accuracy, up to 75%.
  • There is no plain chance to evade any more: old evasion chance lines became increased evasion rating.
  • New item properties: evasion rating, and increased evasion rating while moving, at low stamina and while sneaking.
  • The defence tooltip shows enemy accuracy here and your expected chance to evade them.

Shield bash

Changed
  • Shield bash is the shield's own strike on the alternative attack button.
  • Thorns on block from items answer both held blocks and parries.

Interface and usability

Interface

Jewel in hand

New
  • While a jewel is on the cursor, the tree highlights your sockets and dims the rest.

Relic Passage icon

New
  • The Runecarver option Relic Passage has its own icon.

Hardened Fist

Changed
  • The fist notable previously named Giant’s Blow is now Hardened Fist; its former name belongs to the keystone. Affixes and mastery choices are unchanged.

Unarmed wording

Changed
  • «Unarmed» is now one term everywhere instead of «bare hands» and «barehanded».
  • Unarmed-skill stats that also cover claws now read «fist damage» and «fist attack speed».

Endurance wording

Changed
  • Old «Steadfast» and «Steadfastness» texts now say Endurance.
  • Endurance is now one word everywhere in English: one place still said Resilience.

Vietnamese translation

Changed
  • The Vietnamese community translation is refreshed; changed lines it does not cover yet show in English.

Changing options in the tree

Changed
  • LMB on a queued path or mastery node reopens the choice: another option is free while the points are not applied yet.
  • On a taken node the option change is marked in the Apply bar with its respec price and paid when you apply. RMB cancels it.

Tree search

Changed
  • Tree search matches only names, property lines and mastery options.

Tooltips and messages

Changed
  • The monolith tooltip always shows the rune renewal line, greyed out until the monolith is drained.
  • The missing-object warning explains that it is harmless: the world holds objects of a mod that is not installed.

Fixes

Fixes

Crash at full adrenaline

Fixed
  • Fixed another cause of the crash when adrenaline fills up.
  • The same error likely caused crashes on creature death and in the Eikthyr fight.

Rune Edge

Fixed
  • The mastery converts sword slashing damage to lightning again.

Runecarver disenchanting

Fixed
  • The Disenchant tab shows up at the Rune Carver Table again.
  • Alt + right-click at the Rune Carver Table disenchants Magic and higher items, like the Disenchant tab.
  • Common items now show a message instead of nothing happening.

Thorns

Fixed
  • Thorns hit only enemies, not companions, pets or peaceful creatures.

Max health stuck at 25

Fixed
  • Max health no longer gets stuck at 25, as if no food counted, when one step of the player update fails.
  • A failing step is now skipped and logged, and food keeps counting.

Enemy rune ward

Fixed
  • An enemy's rune ward holds back only stagger; ailment build-up goes through as usual.

Main Tree

Countermove

Fixed
  • The one-handed step covers its full distance on the ground again instead of barely moving.

Unarmed parry

Fixed
  • You can parry unarmed again, as in the base game. The Parry with the Body mastery is removed.

Fixed
  • Glancing rolls only when the block gives way (out of stamina or staggered), not on fully blocked hits.

Projectile copies

Fixed
  • Copies from ricochet, Return Path, chain, pierce and Wall to Target no longer vanish right after they appear.

Burning from masteries

Fixed
  • Burning from Ash to Ash, Flare and Ember Trail now lands instead of being removed at once.

Spores

Fixed
  • Spores from hits grow where the hit landed, not inside the player.

Ice crystals

Fixed
  • Ice crystals from hits appear where the hit landed, not inside the player.

Sceptre lightning

Fixed
  • Sceptre lightning works in dungeons and under roofs; it used to hit the ceiling.

Phantom strikes

Fixed
  • Phantom strikes come only from melee attack hits, not from projectiles, blasts, Smite lightning, damage-over-time ticks, thorns, aftershocks or weapon blasts.

Eitr

Fixed
  • Restored matching icons for two compact Eitr branches in STR–INT and DEX–INT.
  • Their names and search tags now match Eitr capacity and area of effect at full Eitr.

Evasion and Rune Shield

Fixed
  • Corrected the category, names and missing icons of the compact hybrid branch in DEX–INT.

Armour and Rune Shield

Fixed
  • Corrected the category, names and missing icons of the compact hybrid branch in STR–INT.

Spell Echo

Fixed
  • Staff of Frost and other held stream staves no longer keep firing on their own long after release with charged casts.
  • The echo copies only bursts actually fired and stops with the attack.

Precise Control

Fixed
  • The mastery shortens your heavy staggers again: the faster stagger holds until the stagger really ends.

Ground Strike

Fixed
  • Ground Strike now starts with a sledge.

Grounded Recoil

Fixed
  • While standing still, the crossbow's own recoil no longer pushes you back either.

Hold the Draw

Fixed
  • While hovering you now descend slowly as intended instead of falling faster.

Raise the Earth

Fixed
  • The slam that consumes one of your created objects now really has its smaller area.

Slams near trees and rocks

Fixed
  • Slams and their lines always find creatures: nearby trees and rocks no longer make them miss.

Craft tree

Comfort by the fire

Fixed
  • The tooltip reads «+1 comfort level near a lit fire» instead of «comfort level a fire».

Torch comfort

Fixed
  • The tooltip clearly reads: comfort with a lit torch or lantern on you or nearby.

Vanilla creature drops

Fixed
  • Starred creatures keep their vanilla star loot again; the mod's bonuses only add to it.

  • The monolith loot share no longer cuts guard trophies.
  • Creatures above two stars drop one trophy, like vanilla two-star creatures.
